Yay makes school lunch ordering simple, flexible, and completely cashless for families.
Families begin by creating a free Yay account and adding their student(s), school, and payment information. Once set up, parents can access the Pre-Ordered Lunch Calendar, where they can view available menus and select meals for each school day.
Yay uses an à la carte ordering system, allowing families to choose exactly what works best for their child. Depending on the school, meals may include entrées, snacks, drinks, and other add-ons from a variety of local partners.
Orders for the upcoming week are due by Sunday at 12:00 PM EST. Families can still make updates after the Sunday deadline using our late ordering feature directly in the Lunch Calendar, which remains available until 10:00 AM EST the day before delivery. Please note that any changes made after the Sunday at noon deadline may incur a $0.50 per lunch late fee.
Once lunches are scheduled, families should click “Buy Now" to confirm and save their selections. However, families are not charged at checkout. Yay bills weekly on Saturday mornings, after lunches have been delivered, with charges processed using the payment method on file.
At eligible schools, students may also have access to the Yay Café, which offers same-day grab-and-go items such as entrées, snacks, and drinks. Families can enable Café access by creating a custom Café ID PIN in their Yay account under My Account > My Lunchers. Students use this PIN at checkout to make purchases.
Families can also:
- Set a daily spending limit for Yay Café purchases
- View purchase history and billing activity online
- Use account credits, gift cards, or promotional balances toward orders
- Opt-Out of Yay Café purchasing for their child through a daily spending limit of $0 or by not entering a Cafe ID
Because everything is managed digitally, Yay remains completely cashless, helping make ordering, billing, and lunch management as convenient as possible for both families and schools.
